TriNet pricing

What TriNet really costs, why the per employee fee is only part of it, and the benefits, taxes and co employment model that decide your real bill.

TriNet does not publish standard prices. It quotes each deal on company size, industry, location and the services you need, and it sells two main models. HR Plus is an administrative services arrangement where you stay the employer of record and TriNet runs the HR admin and technology. The full PEO is a co employment arrangement where TriNet becomes the employer of record for tax purposes and gives you access to its large group benefit plans. Both bundle the HR technology platform, which TriNet does not sell on its own. The per employee fee is only the service charge. Benefit premiums, workers compensation and payroll taxes are billed on top and usually form the larger share of the invoice. Below we lay out the structure as reported, then the costs that decide real spend. Treat the figures as a guide and confirm with TriNet.

What moves the real bill

The per employee fee is the floor, not the bill.

Four things tend to separate TriNet's reported per employee figure from what a team actually pays. Because pricing is quoted, budget for these before you commit.

Benefits and statutory costs sit on top. The per employee fee covers HR service and technology. Health premiums, workers compensation, payroll taxes and other statutory costs are billed in addition and usually make up the larger share of a PEO invoice.
PEO or HR Plus changes the model. Full PEO co employment, reported around $100 to $150 per employee per month, costs more than the HR Plus administrative model, reported from about $35. The model you pick swings the per head fee before benefits.
Everything is quoted. TriNet publishes no list price. Your number comes from a custom quote shaped by company size, industry, geography and the services you select, so reported figures are third party guides, not a price you can lock from the site.
Minimums and term. The PEO is aimed at companies with enough headcount to justify co employment, and contracts run on annual terms. Headcount minimums and term length both move the per employee rate you are offered.

TriNet pricing FAQ

How much does TriNet cost?

Why does TriNet not publish its prices?

TriNet quotes each deal on company size, industry, location and the services you choose, so there is no single list price. The reported per employee figures are third party guides; the only reliable number is your own quote.

What is the difference between TriNet PEO and HR Plus?

The PEO is a co employment model where TriNet becomes the employer of record for tax purposes and gives you access to its large group benefit plans. HR Plus is an administrative services model where you stay the employer of record and TriNet runs the HR admin and technology, usually at a lower per employee fee.

Can I buy the TriNet platform on its own?

No. TriNet bundles its HR technology platform with HR Plus or the PEO and does not sell it as standalone software. Pricing as of June 2026; check the vendor for current pricing.
