monday.com pricing explained

Four published tiers and two billing rules, the three seat minimum and the multiples of five, that set the real price.

monday.com lists clean per seat prices, but two rules decide what a team actually pays. The first is a three seat minimum on every paid plan, so the smallest paid bill is three seats even for a pair. The second is that seats are sold in blocks, so above three you buy in multiples of five. Most teams land on Standard, which adds timeline, calendar, guests and automation. Below are all tiers as of June 2026, then a plain look at what drives the cost.

What moves the real bill

What actually moves your bill

The per seat price is easy to read, but the seat rules are what set your true monthly cost on monday.com.

The three seat minimum. Every paid plan bills a minimum of three seats, so even a team of two pays for three. This raises the effective entry price above the headline per seat figure.
Seats sold in multiples of five. Above the three seat floor, seats are sold in blocks of five. A team of six pays for ten seats, so it pays to plan headcount against the next block.
The tier you choose. Basic is bare bones; Standard adds timeline, calendar, guests and automation and is where most teams land; Pro adds time tracking and far more automation. Match the tier to the views and automation you actually use.
Annual versus monthly billing. Monthly billing runs about 18 percent more than annual. Teams that expect to keep monday.com usually take the annual rate to lock in the lower price.
Pricing questions

monday.com pricing FAQ

Is monday.com free?

Yes. The Free plan covers up to two seats with up to three boards and unlimited docs. It suits a solo user or a pair, but the two seat cap and three board limit mean most teams move to a paid plan quickly.

What is the three seat minimum?

Every paid plan bills a minimum of three seats. A team of two on Basic still pays for three seats, which sets the real entry cost above the listed per seat price.

How much does monday.com cost for a team of ten?

Seats are sold in multiples of five above the minimum, so a team of ten buys ten seats. As of June 2026 that is about $90 per month on Basic, $120 on Standard or $190 on Pro, billed annually. Check the vendor for current pricing.

Standard or Pro?

Standard covers most teams with timeline, calendar, guests and basic automation. Step up to Pro only if you need time tracking, private boards or heavy automation, since it lifts the per seat price from $12 to $19.
