Intercom pricing

What Intercom costs per seat, plan by plan, and why the Fin AI agent, billed per resolution, is the line that decides your real spend.

Intercom prices its three seat tiers in a familiar way, but the headline seat fee is only half the story. Essential covers the shared inbox, ticketing and a basic help center, Advanced layers on automation, multiple team inboxes and Copilot access, and Expert adds single sign on, advanced security and multibrand support. The twist is Fin, the AI agent that ships on every plan and bills 99 cents for each conversation it resolves on its own. For a busy support team that volume can rival or exceed the seat cost. Below we lay out each plan as published, then the Fin, Copilot and usage fees that tend to push real spend well past the per seat figure.

What moves the real bill

Fin, not the seat, decides the bill.

Four things tend to separate the published Intercom seat price from what teams actually pay. Budget for these before you commit, and model your Fin volume first.

Fin bills per resolution. Fin, the AI agent, charges 99 cents for every conversation it resolves on its own, on top of your seat plan. At scale this usage line can match or exceed the seat cost, so model your expected volume before committing.
Copilot is a separate add on. Copilot, the agent assist tool, is its own per seat add on near twenty nine dollars a seat a month billed annually, so it stacks on the plan price.
Lite seats are limited. Advanced includes twenty lite seats and Expert fifty, for colleagues who need light access. Beyond those counts you pay for more, and lite seats cannot do full agent work.
Usage and channel fees. Outbound messages, SMS, WhatsApp and phone are metered separately, so multichannel outreach and proactive messaging add to the bill beyond the seat and Fin costs.
Pricing questions

Intercom pricing FAQ

Is there a free version of Intercom?

No. Intercom has no permanently free plan, though a free trial is available. The cheapest tier is Essential at $29 per seat per month billed annually, and Fin resolutions are billed separately at 99 cents each. Pricing as of June 2026; check the vendor for current pricing.

How much does Intercom cost?

Intercom seat plans list Essential at $29, Advanced at $85 and Expert at $132 per seat per month billed annually. Monthly billing costs more. Fin AI resolutions bill at 99 cents each on top, and Copilot is a separate add on. Verified June 2026.

How does Fin AI pricing work?

Fin, the AI agent, is included on every plan but bills 99 cents for each conversation it resolves without a human. There is no per seat Fin fee; you pay for outcomes, so a high deflection rate raises the usage bill even as it cuts agent workload.

Why is Intercom more expensive than the headline?

The Fin per resolution fee, the Copilot add on, limited lite seats and metered SMS, WhatsApp and outbound messages all add up. For high volume teams the Fin usage line alone can rival the seat cost, so real spend often runs well above the per seat sticker.
