Zoho Books pricing

What Zoho Books costs, plan by plan, why the free tier has a revenue cap, and the user and add on fees that change the final number.

Zoho Books is one of the best value ledgers in the category, and it starts at zero: the Free plan is genuinely free for solo operators and micro businesses under an annual revenue threshold. Standard adds bank feeds and recurring expenses, Professional brings projects, inventory and multi currency, and Premium layers on budgeting, cashflow forecasting and a vendor portal. Two higher tiers, Elite and Ultimate, add advanced inventory and analytics. Most growing small businesses land on Professional. Below we lay out the main plans as published, then the revenue cap, user limits and add on fees that tend to move the real bill.

What moves the real bill

Cheap to start, but the cap and seats add up.

Zoho Books is genuinely affordable, but four things commonly move the real bill past the headline. Budget for these before you commit.

The free plan revenue cap. The Free plan is free only while annual revenue stays under $50,000. Cross that threshold and you move to Standard at $20 a month, so treat the free tier as a starting point, not a permanent answer for a growing business.
User limits per plan. Each tier caps users: 3 on Standard, 5 on Professional, 10 on Premium. Extra seats are an add on at roughly $3 per user a month, or $2.50 billed annually, so a larger team adds a line on top of the plan.
Higher tiers for inventory and analytics. Advanced inventory, warehouses and sales channel sync sit in Elite at $150, and advanced analytics in Ultimate at $275. If you need those, the real cost is well above the Professional figure most buyers quote.
Add ons. Optional add ons such as BillPay at $59 a month, extra document autoscans and additional locations can raise the total beyond the base plan for businesses that need them.
Pricing questions

Zoho Books pricing FAQ

Is Zoho Books really free?

Yes, for the smallest businesses. The Free plan is genuinely free and indefinite as long as annual revenue stays under $50,000, with one user plus an accountant. Above that threshold you move to a paid plan starting at $20 a month. Pricing as of June 2026; check the vendor for current pricing.

How much does Zoho Books cost?

Main plans are Free, Standard at $20, Professional at $50 and Premium at $70 a month, with Elite at $150 and Ultimate at $275 for advanced inventory and analytics. Annual billing saves roughly 20 percent. Most growing businesses choose Professional. Verified June 2026.

Which Zoho Books plan is best value?

For most growing small businesses, Professional at $50 is the sweet spot: it adds projects, inventory, multi currency and purchase orders. Micro businesses can start Free or on Standard and upgrade as they grow.

What is the catch with the free plan?

The Free plan is capped at $50,000 annual revenue and one user plus an accountant, and it omits bank feeds, advanced reports and most add ons. It suits solo operators, but a growing team will outgrow it and move to a paid tier.
