WP Engine publishes four Essential managed WordPress tiers, plus a Core tier from $400 and custom Enterprise pricing. The headline rates are the first year, new customer annual prices, and the figures that move your real bill are the monthly visit allowance and the cost of extra sites. Plans run from Startup through Professional and Growth to Scale, each lifting visit caps, storage and site counts. Below is each Essential plan as published, then the things that move the number.

Does WP Engine charge for extra traffic?
Yes. Each plan includes a monthly visit allowance, and going over bills about $2 per 1,000 additional visits. If your traffic regularly exceeds the cap, moving to the next plan is usually cheaper than paying overages. Verified June 2026.
Which WP Engine plan should I choose?
Startup fits a single site under 25,000 visits a month. Professional adds phone support and three sites, Growth suits busier business sites, and Scale is for high traffic or many installs. Most small businesses start on Startup or Professional.
Is WP Engine cheaper paid annually?
Yes. The advertised rates are annual, new customer prices, and WP Engine often adds a promotion such as months free on annual terms. Monthly billing costs more per month, so annual is the cheaper route if you can prepay.
