Surfer SEO pricing explained

Four published tiers built around how much content you optimize and how deeply you track AI search, plus a custom enterprise plan.

Surfer prices on volume and visibility, not seats alone. Every paid plan includes its content editor, on page scoring, audits and AI writing assistant, so the limits that actually move your bill are how many documents you can optimize, how many AI prompts you track, and how many seats and brand workspaces you need. There is no permanent free plan, only a free trial, and the published ladder runs Discovery, Standard, Pro and Peace of Mind, with Enterprise reserved for custom scale. Below is every plan as of June 2026, then the few things that decide what you really pay. Check the vendor for current pricing.

What moves the real bill

What actually moves your cost

Surfer's plans all share the same core tools, so the meter is not the features. Four things decide what Surfer really costs, and document volume is the one people hit first.

Documents optimized. Each plan caps how many content editor documents you can create or optimize a month, from 120 on Discovery to 360 on Standard and Pro, and effectively unlimited on Peace of Mind under fair use. Heavy publishing teams outgrow the lower caps quickly.
AI prompt tracking. Tracking how your brand appears across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI is metered by prompts, from none on Discovery to 25 weekly on Standard, 50 daily on Pro and 100 daily on Peace of Mind. The jump to daily refresh is the main reason teams move up.
Seats and workspaces. Discovery is a single seat with one workspace, Standard adds seats, and Pro opens 5 workspaces for managing separate brands. Agencies juggling many clients need the unlimited workspaces on Peace of Mind.
Annual versus monthly. Annual billing saves up to about 17 percent against monthly. The headline figures here are the annual rate per month, so monthly billing adds roughly $10 to $60 a month depending on the tier.
